World of Wigle – Terms and Conditions for Hire

 

Welcome to World of Wigle! 

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms") govern your access to and use of our services, including but not limited to costume, set, puppet, wig, and prop hire. By using our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not proceed with hiring or using our services.

 

Definitions:

"You," "your," or "customer" refer to any individual or organisation using our services. "We," "us," or "our" refer to World of Wigle, trading under Get Your Wigle On.

 

1. General Conditions

1.1 Ownership and Responsibility

All costumes, props, scenery, puppets, and other theatre items remain the property of World of Wigle. The customer is solely responsible for the hired items until their safe return. Items not returned, regardless of the reason, will incur a replacement fee.

 

1.2 Condition Upon Receipt

Customers must check all items upon receipt and report any damage, missing items, or issues within 24 hours. Unreported issues may result in charges.

 

1.3 Sizing and Fit

World of Wigle is not liable for items that do not fit, as sizing is based on provided measurements. Ensure measurements are accurate and are sent to us at least four weeks prior to the hire period. If measurements are not provided four weeks before the first hire date, we cannot guarantee costume fit and will provide the closest available size. A tutorial on measuring is available on our website. By sending a completed booking form, you agree you have watched this tutorial.

 

2. Care and Use of Hired Items

Performers must wear appropriate undergarments while using items. Items must be stored and handled carefully. Costumes and props are delivered in boxes with hangers, which are itemised on an inventory list. Missing hangers or bags will incur replacement fees. Eating, drinking, and smoking are strictly prohibited while using hired items. Sticky labels must not be attached to items. Modifications to items are not allowed, including sewing or gluing. Temporary adjustments, such as pinning or hand-tacking, must be undone before returning.

 

3. Damage and Loss

Replacement fees will be applied if:

• An item is returned beyond reasonable repair or with permanent damage.

• Items are missing from a returned hire.

• An item is not returned.

• Accessories, headdresses, backpacks, or delicate items (e.g., beaded or sequinned) are damaged.

• Hangers not returned will incur a £0.50 fee per hanger.

 

4. Reporting Damage or Issues

Customers must report any damage or issues with items immediately during the rental period. Complaints made after the hire period will not be considered.

 

5. Payment and Deposits

5.1 Deposits

A deposit starting at £200.00 is required to secure your booking. The deposit amount may vary based on the hire type and booking size. Bookings are not confirmed until the deposit is cleared.

 

Deposit Return Policy:

Deposits are non-refundable if the booking is cancelled for any reason. A non-refundable transaction fee of £5.00 is charged per booking to cover payment processing costs. This fee will not be included in the refunded amount if a deposit is returned. Deposits will be refunded upon the satisfactory return of all items, provided they are on time, complete, and in original condition. Deductions may be made for damages, missing items, or other issues.

 

5.2 Payment Terms

Full payment is due no later than 28 days before the agreed collection or delivery date. Late payments may result in termination of the agreement and/or additional fees. Repair or replacement costs exceeding the deposit will be invoiced separately and must be paid within 14 days of notification.

 

5.3 Refund of Deposit

Deposits will be refunded within 21 days after item inspection.

 

6. Delivery

6.1 Courier Delivery

World of Wigle is responsible for the hired items until they are successfully delivered to the designated address. Once the items are delivered and accepted by the customer, the customer assumes full responsibility for the items. World of Wigle cannot guarantee a specific delivery time and is not responsible for courier delays. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that someone is present at the designated address during delivery hours.

 

6.2 Alternative Delivery

Addresses

Groups, such as schools, may provide an alternative delivery address if operating outside regular hours.

 

7. Returning Items

7.1 Packing Instructions

Items must be repacked as delivered. Special care is required for puppets, hats, and headdresses, which should be placed in separate boxes. Improper packing may result in additional charges.

 

7.2 Responsibility During

Transport

Customers transporting items are responsible for their safety. World of Wigle is not liable for personal items left in costumes or packaging.

 

8. Respectful Conduct 

Customers must treat World of Wigle staff with respect and courtesy. Harassment or abusive behaviour may result in termination of agreements and refusal of future service.

 

9. Liability, Insurance, and Safety

9.1 Injury and Property Damage

World of Wigle accepts no responsibility for injury, loss, or damage caused by the use of hired items. The customer assumes full responsibility for ensuring the safe and appropriate use of all items in compliance with any relevant health and safety regulations.

 

9.2 Insurance Recommendation

Customers are strongly encouraged to insure high-value items against theft, loss, or damage. Recommended providers include NODA Insurance or equivalent.

 

9.3 Indemnity

The customer agrees to indemnify and hold World of Wigle harmless from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from the use or misuse of hired items.

 

9.4 Responsibility for Loss or

Damage

Customers must pay for repair or replacement costs for loss or damage, which may exceed the hire fee.

 

9.5 Safe Use of Items

Customers must ensure the safe use of all hired items.

 

10. Cancellation

10.1 Standard Cancellations

Cancellations made up to 28 days before the first hire date forfeit the deposit.

 

10.2 Late Cancellations

Cancellations within 28 days will not get the deposit back and will also incur a fee of 25% of the booking cost per week.

 

11. Additional Terms

Rental Duration: 

Standard rental duration is one week; extensions are subject to availability.

 

Transfer of Hire: 

Hire agreements are non-transferable without prior written approval.

 

Return Address: 

Items must be returned to Wigle Studios, 1-2 Princess Street, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, SY1 1RG. Alternative addresses for set/scenery hire will be agreed upon.

 

Late Returns: 

Late returns incur a fee starting at £100.00 per day.

 

Usage Limitations: 

Hired items are for theatrical performances only. Any other use is prohibited without prior written consent.

 

Social Media Consent:

Customers consent to the use of photos, videos, or testimonials for marketing purposes.

 

Force Majeure: 

Neither party shall be liable for failure to perform their obligations under this agreement if such failure results from events beyond their reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of government, or

other unforeseeable circumstances, lasting more than 30 days.

 

Modifications to Terms: 

World of Wigle reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Customers will be notified of any changes via email or on the website.

Payment Method Details: 

All payments are to be made via our website on WIX. If this is not possible, we can arrange a bank transfer.

 

Governing Law and Disputes

This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will first be resolved through mediation. If mediation fails, arbitration will be pursued.

 

Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement and supersede prior understandings. World of Wigle reserves the right to amend these Terms, with updates provided via email or on our website.
